Sun City Lincoln Hills Local Guide: Coffee, Dining, Groceries, Recreation, and Events
Buyers touring the big 55+ community in Lincoln always ask the same thing after the clubhouse tour: what is actually around here? This guide answers with verified places, not opinions, every one checked against its current official source in September 2026.
Every venue checked September 26, 2026 · Approximate drive times included
Last verified:
Sun City Lincoln Hills is a large, non-gated 55+ community of more than 6,700 homes in Lincoln, and its own two lodges carry a good share of daily life. Everything else, from the morning coffee to the doctor's office to the Saturday farmers' market, lives in the town around it. Here is the verified short list.
The direct answer
Lincoln delivers on everyday needs, and the community delivers on recreation.
Groceries, coffee, and the main restaurant row run along Lincoln Boulevard and the Ferrari Ranch Road area; recreation splits between the 36 holes and two lodges inside the community and the town's parks, library, and golf clubs outside it. Every listing below was checked against its own current source on September 26, 2026, and each carries an approximate drive time from the community's main entrance area so you can judge what "nearby" really means.
The boundary of this guide
This guide covers Lincoln itself: places within a short drive, roughly 10 to 15 minutes by car, of the Sun City Lincoln Hills main entrance area on Sun City Boulevard. It does not cover the wider Lincoln area farther out, and it stops at the city line, so Roseville and Rocklin services are intentionally left to a future guide. Approximate drive times are from the Sun City Boulevard entrance area and are for orientation only; your route and traffic will differ. Businesses close, hours change, and events get rescheduled, so every listing carries the date it was checked.
In this guide
Organized by what you actually need day to day, not by geography: coffee, groceries, dining, recreation, and events, plus the community's own private amenities kept separate at the top. Jump to a section:
The community's private amenities
Residents only · Association-runBefore you map the town, know the campus. Sun City Lincoln Hills spans more than 6,700 single-family homes, non-gated, with two lodge campuses, Orchard Creek and Kilaga Springs, indoor pools at both lodges, 36 holes of golf across the Hills and Orchard courses, and dozens of resident clubs. Golf is a separate cost: the two courses are operated by Lincoln Hills Golf Club, not funded by the association's assessment. The association's own site, suncity-lincolnhills.org, is the current source for programs, hours, and anything with a fee, and access rules for residents, guests, and the public are set by the association and the club.
The honest trade-off, detailed in the site's pros-and-cons review, is distance: the community's spread-out layout means some homes sit a real drive from the lodge they use, and Lincoln is a smaller town, so the fullest shopping and healthcare choices sit in Roseville and Rocklin to the south. The places below cover what Lincoln itself offers well.
Everything listed in the sections after this one is public, part of the town of Lincoln rather than the association: open to anyone who visits, with hours and seasonal schedules you can verify directly. The amenities above are tied to living in the community and are governed by the association's rules, fees, and guest policies.

What this guide does not do
This guide does not rank restaurants or attach ratings. It includes approximate drive times from the community's main entrance area for orientation only, not as guarantees, because taste is personal and traffic is hourly. It verifies that a place exists, where it is, and what it is, against its own current source, and it flags anything that needs a call before you go. Hours, menus, seasonal schedules, and event dates change, so the final check is always the business or agency's own page, or a phone call, and every listing above carries the date it was checked.
Local guide questions
How far is Sun City Lincoln Hills from grocery stores and restaurants?
The community is in Lincoln, and most everyday services sit along Lincoln Boulevard and the Ferrari Ranch Road area outside the community’s entrances: Raley’s and Safeway about 5-8 minutes by car from the Sun City Boulevard entrance area, Sprouts at Ferrari Ranch Road about 5-10 minutes, and the downtown Lincoln restaurants about 10-15 minutes. Those are approximations for orientation from one named reference point, and actual times vary with traffic and which entrance you leave from, so check the current drive yourself before planning around a specific time.
Is there a coffee shop inside Sun City Lincoln Hills?
The community runs cafés as part of its two lodge campuses, Orchard Creek and Kilaga Springs, under the association’s dining and fitness programs; hours and access rules are set by the association. The independently run coffee shops in this guide, including Rebel Hen Café and Brood Coffee, are in Lincoln outside the community.
Can non-residents play the golf courses at Sun City Lincoln Hills?
The two courses, the Hills and Orchard, are operated by Lincoln Hills Golf Club, which is separate from the homeowners association, and golf play is a cost beyond the association assessment. Whether tee times are open to non-residents, and on what terms, is the golf club’s call, so verify the current guest and public policies directly with the club before planning a round.
What are the community’s own amenities near the places in this guide?
Sun City Lincoln Hills is a large, non-gated 55+ community of more than 6,700 single-family homes with two lodge campuses (Orchard Creek and Kilaga Springs), indoor pools at both lodges, 36 holes of golf, and dozens of resident clubs. The association’s own pages at suncity-lincolnhills.org list current programs, hours, and fees.
Are the farmers’ markets in this guide open year-round?
Not necessarily. The Placergrown and Fowler Ranch markets listed here are seasonal, so their current schedules should be confirmed on their official pages before you visit. The grocery stores listed are open year-round with posted hours.
How were the places in this guide verified?
Every venue was checked on September 26, 2026 against its own official website or the responsible agency’s page (the businesses themselves, placergrown.org, lincolnca.gov, and lincolnchamber.com). If a venue’s details were not confirmable from a current source, it was left out of the guide. Because businesses and schedules change, each listing carries that check date and should be re-verified before you go.
